Therapy for the person who's tired of carrying it all.
You wake up already thinking about everything that needs to get done and the mental load never lightens. You notice even small changes in people's tone and immediately wonder if they're upset with you. Your anxiety is always driving your day. You feel guilty resting and you often apologize too much. Maybe you avoid difficult conversations or relationships feel one-sided. You hold yourself together so well that most people have no idea how worried or exhausted you actually feel.
After years of pushing through, your body and mind are asking for something different. Therapy offers a space to slow down and begin listening to what your mind and body have been carrying for so long.
Experience healing & transformation from worry, burnout and overwhelm through a comprehensive, holistic and evidence- based approach to therapy.
You might see yourself here if...
→ You automatically put everyone else's needs before your own
→ You replay conversations wondering if you said the wrong thing
→ You feel guilty resting because there's always something more you "should" be doing
→ You seem calm and successful on the outside, but inside you're overwhelmed
→ You're so used to holding everything together that asking for help feels uncomfortable
→ Your body feels exhausted, but your mind won't slow down
→ You don't really trust yourself anymore. You second-guess almost every decision
→ You can't remember the last time you felt genuinely at ease
Meet Chloe Kinman, LCSW
Trauma & Anxiety Therapist in Los Angeles, CA
Virtual therapy throughout California and Washington
Hi, I’m Chloe. I help high achievers who are living with the effects of developmental trauma, anxiety disorders, chronic stress, or chronic health conditions reconnect with themselves and create lives that feel safer, softer, and more sustainable.
We’ll look beneath the surface of anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-criticism, and overwhelm to understand the patterns underneath them. What did you learn about yourself growing up? What did you have to do to feel safe, loved, accepted, or in control? And how might those strategies still be showing up in your life today?
Together, we’ll bring compassion and curiosity to the parts of you that have learned to protect you, while also helping you build new ways of responding. Depending on what you need, our work may include deeper relational exploration, EMDR, exposure-based therapy, work with the inner critic, emotion-focused interventions, and nervous-system-informed practices.
This work is deeply personal to me. I know what it’s like to become disconnected from yourself while trying to meet expectations, keep the peace, or stay strong for everyone else. I also know how exhausting it is to live in a constant state of overthinking, overfunctioning, or feeling like you always have to “earn” rest, care, or safety.
That understanding shapes how I show up in the therapy room, with warmth, honesty, and deep respect for your pace. I believe healing happens when you no longer have to fight your body, silence your needs, or abandon yourself just to get through life.

Living with a chronic illness affects so much more than your physical health. You may find yourself grieving the life you expected, feeling misunderstood by others, or exhausted from constantly managing symptoms that no one else can see.
Therapy offers a space to process the grief, uncertainty, burnout, and emotional weight that often accompany chronic illness.
-

-

Self Esteem & Self Confidence
A healthy relationship with yourself is the foundation for meaningful relationships and personal growth. Therapy can help you identify and challenge self-critical beliefs, build self-compassion, and develop lasting confidence rooted in your values rather than perfection.
Together, we'll work toward helping you feel more secure, empowered, and authentic in your daily life.
I know you’re tired of feeling…
Constantly worried, overwhelmed, and mentally “on” all the time. You hold yourself to high standards, push through exhaustion, and carry more than most people realize, all while wondering why rest never actually feels restful. From the outside, you look capable and high-functioning. Internally, you’re exhausted from overthinking, and overextending.
Imagine a world where…
You can trust yourself more deeply, feel calmer in your own mind, and stop questioning your worth based on how much you achieve or how well others perceive you. A world where rest feels restorative instead of guilt-inducing, where your worry no longer runs the show, and where you can move through life with more confidence, self-esteem, and emotional ease.

I offer 50-minute individualized online therapy sessions tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lived experience. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all, so we work collaboratively to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and select approaches that best support meaningful, sustainable change.
Depending on your needs, sessions may incorporate a combination of evidence-based and integrative modalities, including:
Psychodynamic & Attachment-Based Therapy
We’ll explore the underlying patterns, relationship experiences, and beliefs that shape how you relate to yourself and others. Rather than simply treating a symptom, we’ll work to understand where it comes from and why it continues to show up.Trauma-Focused Therapy & EMDR
EMDR can help process distressing experiences and the negative beliefs that may have become attached to them. I integrate EMDR within a broader trauma-informed approach so that processing happens at a pace that feels safe, supported, and appropriate for you.Parts & Inner-Critic Work
We’ll become curious about the different parts of you that show up when you feel anxious, overwhelmed, ashamed, or unsafe, including the inner critic and the parts of you that learned to protect you by people-pleasing, overthinking, staying in control, or pushing yourself harder. The goal isn't to get rid of these parts, but to understand what they’re trying to do and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.Compassion-Focused & Emotion-Focused Work
Healing often involves learning to relate to yourself differently. We’ll make space for difficult emotions and practice responding to yourself with greater compassion, curiosity, and understanding rather than criticism or avoidance.Exposure-Based Therapy for Anxiety
For anxiety, I may incorporate gradual exposure to help you step out of cycles of avoidance, reassurance-seeking, and over-control. Together, we’ll build your capacity to tolerate uncertainty and discomfort so that anxiety no longer has to dictate your choices.Somatic & Nervous-System-Informed Approaches
We’ll pay attention not only to your thoughts and emotions, but also to what is happening in your body. Understanding your stress responses can help you recognize when you’re becoming overwhelmed, develop greater regulation, and feel more connected to yourself. My approach is never one-size-fits-all. I draw from these approaches based on what you need, where you are in the therapeutic process, and what will best support meaningful and lasting change.
The goal is not simply to understand yourself better. It’s to help you feel more connected to yourself, trust your own experience, move through emotions with greater ease, and create relationships and a life that feel more sustainable.
